In Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous during Ramadan when Jibreel (Gabriel) would meet him and review the Quran with him. During these meetings, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was more generous in doing good than the blowing wind."
The Prophet's increased generosity in this month is clear evidence that charity in Ramadan is superior to charity at other times.
